Rengstorff Park, Mountain View, California.
I take too many pictures of flowers, but they’re too photogenic. I liked the droplets of water here, and the colour. The sunshine in CA really brings out the beauty in everything.

Stanford University, California.
The architecture on the Stanford campus was very interesting, felt more like being in Spain, particularly alongside the palm trees. Obviously a very wealthy place…
Yosemite National Park, California.
Playing around with exposure bracketing again, in the woods below one of the famous waterfalls.
On the beach at Arnside.
A boat called The Heron, on the beach overlooking the cross bay railway bridge. There’s a very good fish and chip shop there :-)
Railway viaduct at the Crook ‘o Lune.
Originally built to carry the ‘Little’ North Western Railway in 1849. Closed to passenger trains in 1966, and freight trains a year later (If Internet research is to be believed). It’s a really lovely place to visit, particularly with a camera.
My keyboard.
For a while this year I attempted to take at least one photograph every day, this was the image that kicked everything off, an interesting view of my desk and my iMac.
Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park.
I took this in an attempt to test exposure bracketing functionality on my 400D. I used a piece of software called Photomatix to combine the different exposures into one HDR image and the outcome was fairly interesting, even if the subject wasn’t ideal.
Lancaster Castle.
Taken on a cold February day, you’d hardly know the castle is actually a category C prison.
Sunset over Morecambe.
I took this from my campus room in Bowland Tower at Lancaster University. I took about 50 different photos over the course of about 15 minutes and in every single photo the colours had changed. Absolutely beautiful.
