Men’s seconds rugby, Roses 2010, Lancaster University.

I like the Roses competition, it gives me the opportunity to pretend I’m a sports photographer for a few days, though this year it was mostly in the rain.

Books and pens.

I created a little random photo topic generator, which told me to take a picture on the theme of writing. I love notebooks, so that was quite easy to arrange..

Wind turbine on Caton Moor.

I’d never visited one of these things up close before, they’re frighteningly large. The sheep didn’t seem to mind them though.

Rope swing in a hidden park.

Sadly it had been cut off at a height even I could barely reach, I suspect it hadn’t actually been used for swinging in quite a some time.

Another beautiful sunset over Morecambe bay.

I’m incredibly lucky living where I do, the sunsets are fantastic and different almost every day.

Railway viaduct at the Crook ‘o Lune.

Originally built to carry the ‘Little’ North Western Railway in 1849. Closed to passenger trains in 1966, and freight trains a year later (If Internet research is to be believed). It’s a really lovely place to visit, particularly with a camera.

Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park.

I took this in an attempt to test exposure bracketing functionality on my 400D. I used a piece of software called Photomatix to combine the different exposures into one HDR image and the outcome was fairly interesting, even if the subject wasn’t ideal.
